Intimacy; a hotel room and the private living space. Ben-David’s work provide an insight into trivial objects, imbued with meaning by the very presence of the human being within. A reflection on the blurred boundaries between private and public, between withdrawal and exposure, turning the viewers into voyeurs. The spread towels as well as the rumpled sheets resemble topographic map that marks the tension between the intimate and the alienated, a tension that underlies the experience offered by a room.
The room in her work is not a fixed entity but a condition, an occurrence that unfolds and transform in relation to the human being within.
